ELECTRIC RAZOR COLLECTION
FAQs
Can I use your electric trimmer products for a full clean shave?
While the Double Header Electric Trimmer doesn't give you a clean, to-the-skin shave, it can trim your hair down to something that resembles a 5 o'clock shadow, which hey, may be what you're looking for.
Can I use a shave aid with Dollar Shave Club's Electric Trimmer products?
It's not recommended to use shave aids while trimming, it's just not going to do much for you. If you'd absolutely love to use one, just make sure you thoroughly rinse the blade with water after each use.
Which products should I use to maintain my beard?
Use Prep Scrub intermittently to buff dead skin out from under your beard with ease. It'll also help release and prevent ingrown hairs. Our favorite way to keep beards happy and healthy is with our Beard Oil, and it smells amazing to boot.
How often should I change my Double Header Electric Trimmer heads (both face and body)?
For your best and closest trim, replace your Double Header Electric Trimmer shaving head yearly. Both the face and body replacement heads are available for purchase on our website.
What kinds of hair are best trimmed by the Style Detailer Precision Trimmer?
This electric razor is best for ear hair, nose hair, eyebrows, and any other out-of-place hair that grows on or around your face.
What material do you use to make your Double Header Electric Trimmer face blade?
Our facial Double Header Electric Trimmer blades are made from self sharpening ceramic blades for a comfortable shave.
What material do you use to make your Double Header Electric Trimmer precision trimmer and body trimmer?
Our precision and body electric blades are made from stainless steel.
Can I use the Club Series 4 Blade razor with the 3-in-1 Freestyler Electric Trimmer/Razor?
Yes, the 3-in-1 Freestyle Electric Trimmer/Razor is compatible with all Club Series Blades.
What's the best way to clean and maintain my electric trimmer?
Take the shaving head off and use the included brush to remove any loose hair. Then, rinse it under water to get rid of excess hair. Another way to clean would be to keep the head on the device, turn it on, and run it under water to agitate any stubborn hair and to help clean out the blades. We recommend giving it a little clean after every shave for best performance.
Does my electric trimmer require oil?
While not required, we definitely recommend oiling the blade mechanism of your Double Header Electric Trimmer to make sure the blades are sliding correctly and not creating too much friction.
How should I trim my beard?
Wash your beard with shampoo, towel dry, and comb it out; you want to get hair as much in one direction as you possibly can. Always go slowly; you can trim more hair off but you can't put it back after it's gone. Pull your skin tight, keep the trimmer parallel and flat against your skin, be gentle, and go slowly.
Is shaving with an electric razor better?
The answer is always the same: it depends on the person and situation.
The Classic Razor
The OGs of the shaving world, manual razors provide a closer shave for your face and body that feels as smooth as it looks. Razors are compact, perfect for traveling, and let you get to hard-to-reach places. They also don’t rely on batteries or electricity, making them ready to go when duty calls.
After creating razors of unparalleled quality at affordable prices, we spent years spreading the gospel of shaving, so we know a thing or two.
The Electric Razor
Electric grooming is easier to learn and master, with a much lower risk of cuts and skin irritation.
Multiple shave heads and precision trimmers also add versatility to your game. Let’s face it: your nose, ear, and facial hair are different. So is the hair on your chest, shoulders, and whatever grows below the belt. Don’t you want to use the right tool for the right job?
Finally, our research (casually talking to hundreds of shaving men) shows style as one of the biggest draws. Clipper guards allow for more nuance, and techniques like shading, tapering, fading, blending, and detailing come into play.
If you want your beard to say something unique about you or you want to carve your team’s logo into your chest for the playoffs (no judgment, we’ve been there), an electric razor might be for you.
Is there an electric razor that shaves as close as a blade?
Yes and no.
It ultimately comes down to your idea of closeness. Plenty of electric razors and trimmers provide a close and comfortable shave. Plenty of guys find that level of closeness perfectly suitable for their everyday lives.
If you're looking for soft as the day you were born smoothness, you'll likely only find that from a razor.
Do electric shavers leave stubble?
Almost all shaving leaves stubble, but not all stubbles are created equal.
A close shave with a razor starts with a completely smooth face, followed by a ‘five o’clock shadow,’ eventually becoming a coarse stubble for a day. Maybe two.
Electric shavers also leave stubble, though they tend to be less bristly and coarse to the touch.
The other factor to consider is individual growth patterns.
Our advice? Experiment with both types of grooming and figure out how your growth pattern works.
Can you get a smooth shave with an electric razor?
Oh, definitely.
Electric shaving can provide a smooth shave for any occasion. And if you’re someone with sensitive skin, an electric grooming kit could mean you’ll never have to deal with razor burn again.
But before we leave you to shave, here are four tips to ensure you get the smoothest shave with an electric:
Take. Your. Time.
Never rush a shave. Patience and preparation are as fundamental to shaving as training and discipline are to athletics.
Prepping your face with skincare. Wash your face, exfoliate even. It's good to have a prepped canvas.
Other pro tips are ensuring your device is charged in advance and announcing to anyone within earshot that you’re not to be disturbed during this sacred ritual.
Slowly Shave Against the Grain
If you’ve gone electric, shaving against the grain isn’t the boogie man it used to be. Electric razors and trimmers better pick up the tiny hairs sticking out, so move them slowly and carefully against the grain for a closer, smoother shave.
Never Skip the Aftershave
We’re not just talking about a balm or cream to apply as a soothing moisturizer (although that’s important too), but the aftershave routine itself.
Don’t shave and dash. It’s undignified.
Besides wiping down your shave station, clean your device and any detachable parts. This prevents hair buildup and keeps your electric shavers functioning optimally. Plus, using the little brush is pretty fun.
Choose Consistency and Quality
High-quality shaving products should be available at affordable prices.
