FAQs
The main thing that makes our handles special is that they're the main supporter of our blades.
Beyond that, we've got plenty of choices in plenty of colors for you to choose from. Go with our classic Club Series Diamond Grip handle for solid grip and maximum color choices. Or go with our Body Shaver Handle if you shave your body, in dry or shower-y terrains.
Looking for something more heavy duty and luxe looking? The Heavy Metal Handle is for you. No matter which handle you choose, each of our beloved Club Series shaving heads will easily attach for easy mixing and matching.
Our precision trimmer is a single edge razor blade on the back of the 6 Blade cartridge, used to trim and shape hard to reach places like under your nose or a precise beard line. It's the ideal blade for shaving places that might grow a rogue hair from time to time. Be sure to hold it at a 45° angle from your skin for best results.
We surely think so (in a totally cool and non-biased way). We have tested our blades against competitors, and have continued to improve our blades over more than a decade in business, all in the service of providing a comfortable shave. And with over a million happy customers, we like to think we're doing something right.
To maximize your ultimate shave comfort, we suggest pairing our high quality shaving blades with Shave Gel, Shave Butter, or our Shave Cream.
Our razor blades are made of high grade stainless steel blades sourced from Sweden. Most Dollar Shave Club razor blades are manufactured in our state of the art razor factory that we built all by ourselves (and we're dang proud of that).
The Dollar Shave Club lube strip is infused with Vitamin E for comfort and glide.
We recommend our 4 Blade razor, which features four precision cut stainless steel blades designed for longer, thicker hair. The blades are also spaced further apart, which allows hair to easily pass through.
If you're trying to get those nooks and crannies, we recommend our 6 Blade razor. It features a built in precision trimmer blade on the back, which is perfect for getting tough spots like under your nose.
Shaving with acne? Have no fear. We recommend our Acne Friendly Razor Blade, which features a SlipTech Guard Bar, hyaluronic-acid infused lubricated strip, and 4 easy-rinsing steel blades on a pivoting head.
We recommend our Club Series Body Shaver Handle, which features a design specifically for body shaving and shaving in the shower (because we hate shower razor handle slips as much as the next guy).
Want to upgrade your bathroom just by making your razor look more handsome? Our most premium handle is the Heavy Metal Handle, which is a sleek, luxurious handle that is almost twice the weight of traditional handles, and crafted for the ultimate controlled shaving experience.
Yes, all Club Series blade refills fit all Club Series handles.
It all depends on your hair type and how often you're shaving. Our rule of thumb is to change your blade once a week if you're a daily shaver. Hot tip: A regular blade subscription with Dollar Shave Club will make it so that you can change your blade right on time, on the cadence that works for you.
The ideal kit is equipped for the varied needs of men's grooming — whether it's a close shave, routine trim, or meticulous touch-up.
No kit is complete without these essentials:
- Razor blades (bonus if you have 4 and 6-blade options)
- Blade handle
- Electric trimmer (remember the charger and attachments!)
- Scissors and tweezers for utmost precision
- Nail clippers (what's a grooming kit without one?)
For the ultimate setup, you also need:
- Comb + brush
- Facial Cleanser
- Shave Butter
- Aftershave
- Moisturizer
- Something to put it all in
We're not in the habit of telling a man how to groom in the sanctity of his bathroom, but there are a few tips that can make life easier — especially if you're new to the shaving game:
Prep, prep, prep!
Wash your face and dab warm water to open the pores before applying shave cream. Put on some music. Take your time. The best shave is never hurried. That's especially true for a below-the-belt shave.
The grain is your friend
Never go against the grain! A superior blade will get you a close, comfortable shave with the grain, avoiding skin irritation. Be kind to your face. It's a marathon, not a race.
Find the right gear
